With a career spanning more than 30 years, Martin has played a pivotal role in shaping both H&A Group and the plumbing and heating industry across Northern Ireland.
A Career Built on Vision and Leadership
Martin joined H&A in 1993, working closely with our late founder, Hugh McWilliams, to modernise heating across the region. Together, they led the transition from oil to gas boilers, improving efficiency, safety, and affordability for thousands of homes.
Today, Martin continues to drive innovation and sustainability, guiding H&A through the shift to low-carbon and renewable energy solutions. Under his leadership, the company has become a specialist in air source and hybrid heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging systems, helping homeowners and businesses reduce their carbon footprint while achieving long-term energy savings.
People-Centred Leadership
Beyond technical expertise, Martin is known for his mentorship and people-first approach. He has fostered a culture of loyalty, innovation, and excellence—reflected in the many long-serving team members at H&A. He also advocates for greater investment, policy clarity, and industry collaboration to support Northern Ireland’s decarbonisation goals.
