Students were given a unique behind-the-scenes look at the construction industry during a recent Open Doors event held at our new headquarters development, delivered by contractor OB Construction.

The event formed part of Open Doors Week, a nationwide initiative aimed at showcasing the diverse range of careers available across the construction sector. Working in partnership with OB Construction, Construction Futures, McGurk Architects and the Construction Employers Federation (CEF), the day provided a comprehensive overview of how projects are delivered—from early-stage design through to on-site construction—highlighting both client and subcontractor perspectives.

Pupils from St Patrick’s College, Maghera, and St Colm’s High School, Draperstown attended the event, where they experienced a live construction environment first-hand. Students had the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into potential career pathways within the sector.

The visit proved to be an engaging and inspiring experience, reinforcing the importance of connecting young people with the industry and demonstrating the breadth of opportunities available.
